Provides small group and individual instruction to eligible students in the development of constructive, age appropriate social skills through the use of lessons and activities designed for this purpose. Lesson content will focus on social skills which impact successful school performance. Provides encouragement to participating students, and facilitates student understanding of how to implement these skills in the school classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum of 12 hours of training by a recognized provider in social skills curriculum and strategies for implementation for children in grades K through 8. At least one year’s experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
