Provides parent counseling, consultation, support, and follow-up services to families of refered Title 1-eligible students attending participating non-public schools. Consults with and refers families to community resources as needed. Designs and presents educational workshops for parents and school personnel on topics geared to enhancing knowledge and skills to support student school success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Requires a masters degree in social work and NJ social worker license. Experience in social work or counseling in an education environment preferred. Seeking bilingual (Spanish) social worker.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have demonstrated ability to communicate with students, families and school personnel. Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to bring parents, school personnel, and outside
resources together to work effectively for children.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings, some of which are not handicap accessible.
