    The Professional Learning Facilitator is tasked with working with parents to improve effectiveness in assisting children academically, social-emotionally needs and in enhancing parent-child relationships. Eligible candidates may reside anywhere in the US and its Territories.  Professional Learning Facilitators are field-based and travel to school sites as required by the project assignment.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

     

    • Produce and plan parent workshops
    • Review parent workshop presentations and notes for upcoming trainings
    • Create example workshops
    • Reach out to Point of Contact for your particular training and confirm logistics
    • Research and demonstrate psycho-educational strategies
    • Facilitate parent workshops
    • Encourage participation and open discussion
    • Ensure parent development is completed successfully 
    • Facilitate and support development, group discussion and feedback with parents
    • Ensure the parent survey is completed by participants
    • Review survey results and look for ways to improve practice based on results
    • Communicate actively with site manager throughout entire process
    • Other duties may be assigned

     

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    At least 3years’ experience working with parents of K-12 students.

    BA/BS Degree in Education/Psychology or related field preferred

    Experience delivering professional development workshops to adults.

    Excellent communication skills are essential.

     

    OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Some travel required within NYC

     

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings
